Three-Phase Power Calculator
Calculate balanced three-phase active electrical power in W from line-to-line voltage, line current in A, and power factor, with the formula shown.
How it works
P(W) = √3 × V(line-to-line) × I(line) × pf
For 400 V line-to-line, 10.38 A line current and pf = 0.85, P = √3 × 400 × 10.38 × 0.85 = 6,112.75 W (rounded).
This is active electrical input power for a balanced three-phase load. Mechanical output additionally depends on efficiency.
FAQ
Should I enter phase-to-neutral voltage?
No. This formula uses line-to-line voltage and line current.
Is this motor shaft output power?
No. Multiply electrical input power by motor efficiency to estimate shaft output power.
Does this work for an unbalanced load?
This formula assumes a balanced load. For an unbalanced system, calculate and sum the active power of the individual phases.
