Unit conversion

Pressure Converter

Convert pressure between bar, psi, kPa, MPa, and standard atmospheres using fixed unit factors, with bar-to-psi and MPa-to-bar examples.

How it works

1 bar = 100,000 Pa; 1 psi = 6,894.757293168 Pa; 1 kPa = 1,000 Pa; 1 MPa = 1,000,000 Pa; 1 atm = 101,325 Pa

1 bar = 14.5038 psi (rounded); 1 MPa = 10 bar.

Convert through the base unit: result = value × source factor / target factor. Factors above specify each unit in the base unit. Results are rounded only for display.

FAQ

Does converting units change gauge pressure to absolute pressure?

No. Keep the same pressure reference. Changing between gauge and absolute pressure requires a separate atmospheric pressure offset.

Which atmosphere is used?

The standard atmosphere, exactly 101,325 Pa.

Can I enter negative pressure?

This converter accepts nonnegative pressure magnitudes. It does not model negative gauge pressure.
